Finds for November 19, 2010

I've been down with the flu for almost a week now so I haven't felt good enough to get out to the thrift stores until today. The pickens were slim but I did grab a few things:

I'm not sure what that pink doll is. I think it's a Monchichhi knockoff. I was happy about the Quints book. I have a box of quints dolls I need to go through. I plan to start seriously collecting them soon.

Finds for October 28, 2010

 This picture is not very good quality . . . sorry! I went to an antique store today as well as Savers. I was so excited to find bell charms! The bag cost me $6.

 And yes . . . I am crazy enough to wear these.

 The antique store had a couple of Monchichhis for $1.50 each.

 Not sure why I bought the clown PVCs lol.

And something I have never seen before: a Cabbage Patch Kids playset! I'll have to do some research on if it is complete or not.

Monchhichi Memories

When I was around five years old I had a Monchhichi plush and several figures. Recently I found an antique shop here in town with a big bucket fill of them. So I grabbed three that I remember having as a kid and hope to find more for a bit cheaper. They were really dingy so I cleaned them up. Aren't they cute?!

I went on a trip to New York last December and ended up at FAO Schwartz where I grabbed two newer baby plush for my girls. They love them. You can go broke on Monchhichi, though. The new ones they have out are numerous. I think I am going to focus on the PVC figures in my collection. I think there has to be some focus or I will end up on that hoarders show in twenty years, but instead of garbage I'll have lots of toys!

Finds for September 16th!

Yesterday I went downtown to take care of some legal business and decided to stop in an antique store that I know carries 80's toys. After spending too much money there ($42) I decided to hit the thrift shops! I had a fairly successful day there. Look at my loot:

Found this at the antique store and it cost me $32, which is a lot (I always want to find things cheap!) But it was in the box and had some other RB pieces in there, so I splurged.

The last four items on the list I intend to keep for trades, so let me know what you've got! After finding so many fun things at the thrift shop for dirt cheap I was reminded once again that antique stores are never a good deal, and I don't want to go broke amassing a collection so it is fun to hold out for that deal, even if it takes a while to get it.
